The Extreme Networks 45210 (FM-32ti) is a high-performance Switch Fabric Card and interface module designed for the BlackDiamond 8800 series modular switching chassis. This module features 32 ports of 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ-45 copper connectivity, providing a high-density solution for server farms and edge-to-core aggregation. It is engineered to integrate seamlessly into the system's backplane, contributing to the overall switching fabric capacity while delivering line-rate performance across all individual ports. The FM-32ti is optimized for enterprise-class data centers where modularity, low latency, and high-bandwidth copper distribution are required.Running on the modular ExtremeXOS operating system, the 45210 supports a comprehensive suite of Layer 2 and Layer 3 features, including advanced IPv4/IPv6 routing, OSPF, BGP, and granular Quality of Service (QoS). The hardware is designed to handle complex traffic management tasks with 8 hardware queues per port and deep buffering to prevent packet loss during congestion. Security is managed through hardware-based Access Control Lists (ACLs) and identity-based network login.
