The Avago AFCT-5715APZ is a high-performance Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) optical transceiver module designed for Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-LX) and 1x Fibre Channel applications. Operating at a nominal wavelength of 1310 nm, the module utilizes a Fabry-Perot (FP) laser transmitter to enable long-reach data transmission over single-mode fiber (SMF). It supports link distances of up to 10 kilometers, making it an ideal solution for campus backbones, metropolitan area networks (MANs), and inter-building connectivity where standard multi-mode solutions are insufficient.The transceiver is fully compliant with the SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and IEEE 802.3z 1000BASE-LX standards. It features a duplex LC optical interface and operates from a single 3.3V power supply. The AFCT-5715APZ is equipped with an integrated Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) interface, providing real-time telemetry for critical parameters such as laser bias current, optical transmit power, received optical power, internal temperature, and supply voltage. This functionality is essential for proactive network health monitoring and ensuring the stability of mission-critical optical links.
