Description

The Brocade 57-10000012-01 is a high-performance SFP+ optical transceiver designed for 8Gbps Fibre Channel storage area network (SAN) applications. This module operates at a nominal wavelength of 850nm over multi-mode fiber (MMF), supporting link distances of up to 150 meters when using OM3 grade cabling. It is fully compliant with the SFP+ Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and supports auto-sensing capabilities for backward compatibility with 4Gbps and 2Gbps Fibre Channel protocols.The transceiver features a duplex LC connector interface and incorporates a Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser (VCSEL) transmitter and a PIN photodiode receiver. It supports Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) / Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM), enabling real-time monitoring of critical parameters such as optical output power, optical input power, temperature, laser bias current, and transceiver supply voltage. This hot-swappable module is optimized for low power consumption and high reliability in data center environments, ensuring seamless integration with Brocade (Broadcom) switches, directors, and host bus adapters (HBAs). The unit meets Class 1 laser safety standards and is RoHS compliant, providing a robust solution for short-reach high-speed storage connectivity.
