The Brocade 57-1000117-01 is an 8Gbps Short Wave (SW) optical transceiver module designed for high-speed Fibre Channel storage networking. This SFP+ module operates at a nominal wavelength of 850nm over multi-mode fiber (MMF). It is engineered to support 8.5 Gbps Fibre Channel connectivity while maintaining backward compatibility with 4.25 Gbps and 2.125 Gbps legacy systems. The transceiver enables reliable data transmission over distances of up to 150 meters using OM3 fiber and up to 190 meters using OM4 fiber optics.The unit features a standard duplex LC connector and utilizes a Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser (VCSEL) as its light source. It incorporates Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) capabilities, providing real-time diagnostic data such as supply voltage, laser bias current, and optical transmit/receive power levels. This hot-swappable transceiver is optimized for Brocade FC switches and directors, ensuring seamless integration and high port density in data center environments.
