The FiberXon FTM-9612C-SL10G is a high-performance Bidirectional (BiDi) Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) optical transceiver designed for Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-BX10-D) and Fibre Channel applications. This module is engineered to operate over a single strand of single-mode fiber (SMF), utilizing Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) to transmit and receive data simultaneously on different wavelengths. It features a 1490 nm DFB laser transmitter and a 1310 nm PIN photodiode receiver, supporting link distances of up to 10 kilometers. This single-fiber solution is ideal for optimizing existing fiber infrastructure and reducing cabling costs in metropolitan access networks and fiber-to-the-x (FTTx) deployments.The transceiver is fully compliant with the SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and IEEE 802.3ah standards, ensuring seamless interoperability with a wide range of switches, routers, and optical line terminals (OLT). It features a simplex LC optical interface and operates from a single 3.3V power supply. The FTM-9612C-SL10G includes integrated Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM), providing real-time telemetry for operational parameters such as optical output power, received optical power, laser bias current, internal temperature, and supply voltage. This functionality allows for proactive network maintenance and rapid troubleshooting of optical links.

Built for carrier-grade reliability, the module is housed in a robust metallic enclosure that provides superior electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and efficient thermal management. The unit is hot-pluggable, enabling hardware installation and replacement without interrupting the power to the host system.
