The GigaLight GP-3124-L2CD-HUA is a high-performance Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) transceiver module designed for bidirectional serial optical data communications. This module is optimized for Gigabit Ethernet and 1x Fiber Channel applications, supporting a nominal data rate of 1.25 Gbps. It is engineered for long-reach transmission over Single-Mode Fiber (SMF), utilizing a 1310nm Fabry-Perot (FP) laser transmitter and an integrated PIN photodiode receiver to achieve a maximum link distance of 20 kilometers. The transceiver is compliant with the SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and IEEE 802.3z 1000BASE-LX standards, ensuring broad compatibility with a wide range of networking equipment, including switches, routers, and media converters. It features a duplex LC optical interface and a 20-pin electrical connector for hot-pluggable functionality, allowing for installation and replacement without powering down the host system. The module incorporates Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM/DOM) via a 2-wire serial interface, providing real-time access to operational parameters such as optical output power, receiver sensitivity, laser bias current, and transceiver temperature.
