The ZTE NFCM is a versatile Network Function Management Module designed for carrier-grade telecommunication platforms, including the ZXA10 and ZXUN xGW series. This board serves as a consolidated control and management unit, integrating system-wide coordination, hardware monitoring, and low-latency signaling processing within a single ATCA-compliant module. It is engineered to manage the operational state of service-specific line cards and processing units, ensuring synchronized performance across the entire subrack. The NFCM board executes essential management plane functions, including real-time alarm reporting, software version control, and resource allocation. It provides the primary interface for Northbound (NMS) and Southbound management traffic, supporting standard protocols such as SNMP, CLI, and Telnet/SSH for secure remote administration. Additionally, the module facilitates the distribution of clock synchronization signals across the system backplane, maintaining timing accuracy for high-speed packet processing boards.
Designed for mission-critical environments, the NFCM supports 1+1 hardware redundancy, allowing for automatic failover between active and standby units to prevent management-level outages. The front panel features a standardized set of LED indicators (RUN, ALM, ACT/MST) for immediate visual diagnostics of the board’s health and operational mode. As a core management component, it supports hot-swappable installation, enabling maintenance or firmware updates without interrupting the data traffic flowing through the chassis. The board complies with global ETSI and NEBS standards for electromagnetic compatibility and thermal efficiency.
