The ZTE GPBB0 General Processing Blade is a service processing unit designed for ZTE ATCA/ETCA platforms, including the ZXUN, ZXV4000, ZXA-1000, and ZXMSG 9000 series equipment. It performs general-purpose processing tasks such as service application handling, protocol processing, signaling management, and resource allocation in carrier-grade core network and IMS environments. The blade supports flexible configuration with memory options, including the 6x4 GB variant, enabling efficient data buffering and multitasking under varying network loads. It operates within distributed system architectures, allowing load balancing across multiple processing units for improved scalability and performance in ALL-IP networks.
The GPBB0 integrates with other system components through high-speed interfaces, including fabric switch boards such as FSWA1, base switch modules like BSWA0, and control boards such as BGSU1. This ensures synchronized data exchange and high-throughput communication between boards in multi-shelf configurations.
Key operational features include support for online software upgrades, real-time fault monitoring, and comprehensive diagnostics. The hot-swappable design permits board replacement without interrupting ongoing network services, which is critical for maintaining high availability in 24/7 telecommunications operations.
Constructed using industrial-grade components, the GPBB0 provides reliable thermal performance and electromagnetic compatibility suitable for deployment in central offices and data center environments. It is compatible with ZTE’s ALL-IP platform architecture and is used in mobile core networks, IMS solutions, and other large-scale telecom infrastructure where general service processing is required.
The blade contributes to system redundancy and scalability when installed in combination with matching control, switching, and power modules. It adheres to standard ATCA/ETCA mechanical and electrical specifications for seamless insertion into compatible subracks and chassis.
