ZTE RSB/C Control and Switch Board

The ZTE RSB/C is a multifunctional Control and Switch Board designed for carrier-grade telecommunication platforms, including the ZXA10 and ZXMSG series. This module serves as the central intelligence and data switching hub of the subrack, integrating system management, control plane processing, and non-blocking traffic switching into a single high-availability unit. It is engineered to coordinate the operations of all peripheral line cards while providing high-speed backplane connectivity for subscriber data aggregation and upstream transport.The RSB/C board executes essential network functions, including Layer 2 switching, Layer 3 routing, and advanced traffic management. It incorporates high-performance processors and high-density RAM to handle signaling protocols, subscriber authentication, and sophisticated Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms. The module facilitates seamless communication across the system's backplane and is responsible for the distribution of clock synchronization signals, ensuring timing accuracy for all installed interface modules. Additionally, it provides dedicated management ports (Console/Ethernet) for local and remote configuration via CLI or SNMP-based Network Management Systems (NMS).
Designed for maximum system uptime, the RSB/C supports 1+1 hardware redundancy with automatic state synchronization and rapid failover capabilities. The front panel is equipped with a comprehensive set of LED indicators (RUN, ALM, MST) for real-time monitoring of the board's health and its role as the active or standby controller. As a mission-critical component, it supports hot-swappable installation, enabling hardware maintenance or firmware upgrades without interrupting the data traffic flowing through the chassis. The board complies with global ETSI and NEBS standards for electromagnetic compatibility and thermal efficiency.
