The ZTE SWBB1 is a high-capacity Switch Fabric Board designed for carrier-grade telecommunication platforms, including the ZXA10 and ZXUR series. Built on the Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ATCA), this module serves as a core switching element, providing non-blocking data exchange between various service and interface cards within the subrack. It is engineered to facilitate high-speed packet forwarding and traffic aggregation, ensuring seamless connectivity for converged 2G, 3G, and LTE/PON network environments. The SWBB1 board executes critical data plane functions, including Layer 2 switching, Layer 3 routing, and hardware-based VLAN tagging (IEEE 802.1Q). It incorporates an advanced switching chipset and high-bandwidth backplane interfaces to manage intensive subscriber traffic with minimal latency. The module supports sophisticated Quality of Service (QoS) mechanisms, such as priority queuing and traffic shaping, to ensure the reliable delivery of time-sensitive services like Voice over IP (VoIP) and real-time video streaming. Additionally, it coordinates with the system’s management modules (NCMM/NFCM) to maintain synchronized operation across the entire chassis.
Designed for maximum network uptime, the SWBB1 supports 1+1 hardware redundancy with automatic state synchronization and rapid failover capabilities. The front panel features a standardized set of LED indicators (RUN, ALM, ACT) for real-time monitoring of the board's operational health and its role as the active or standby switching unit. As a mission-critical component, it supports hot-swappable installation, enabling hardware maintenance or capacity expansion without disrupting the power supply or data traffic on other modules. The board complies with global ETSI and NEBS standards for thermal efficiency, electromagnetic compatibility, and long-term durability in high-availability infrastructures.
