The NeoPhotonics PT7320-31-1W is a hot-pluggable SFP optical transceiver module designed for 155 Mbps STM-1/OC-3 SONET/SDH and related low-rate applications. It operates at a nominal wavelength of 1310 nm using a Fabry-Perot (FP) or MQW FP laser transmitter and a PIN photodiode receiver. The module supports reliable transmission distances up to 15 km over single-mode fiber (ITU-T G.652) and complies with the SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA), SFF-8472 digital diagnostic specifications, and ITU-T G.957 S-1.1 application code for STM-1/OC-3 interfaces.This transceiver is optimized for data rates from 0.125 Gb/s to 0.155 Gb/s (155.52 Mbps STM-1/OC-3 line rate with NRZ encoding) and is also suitable for other 100–155 Mbps applications. Digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM/DOM) functions are implemented via the two-wire I2C serial interface. This enables real-time monitoring and reporting of critical parameters including transmitted optical power, received optical power, laser bias current, supply voltage, and module temperature. Programmable warning and alarm thresholds support proactive fault detection and performance management. Additional features include transmitter disable (TX_DISABLE) and loss-of-signal (LOS) indication.
Optical performance specifications include average transmitter output power typically from -15 dBm to -8 dBm and receiver sensitivity of -28 dBm or better, providing a sufficient link budget for 15 km reach on single-mode fiber.
