The WTD RTXM192-404 is a hot-pluggable SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) optical transceiver module designed for multirate high-speed applications up to 2.67 Gbit/s. It supports line rates including 2.488 Gbit/s (OC-48/STM-16) and 2.67 Gbit/s (with FEC), making it suitable for SDH/SONET, Fibre Channel, and other telecom/datacom interfaces.This module operates at a nominal wavelength of 1310 nm using a Fabry-Perot (FP) laser transmitter and a PIN photodiode receiver. It is optimized for single-mode fiber (SMF 9/125 µm) with a typical transmission distance of up to 2 km (Short Reach / SR-1 class). The optical link budget provides reliable performance with low bit error rates (better than 10⁻¹²) over the specified short-reach distance. Transmitter average output power and receiver sensitivity comply with short-reach SONET/SDH specifications.
The RTXM192-404 complies with the SFP MSA and relevant ITU-T G.957 / Telcordia standards for STM-16 / OC-48 short-reach interfaces. It supports framed SDH STM-16 and SONET OC-48 signals with section, line, and path overhead processing when installed in a compatible host platform. The module includes digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM/DOM) compliant with SFF-8472, enabling real-time reporting of transmitted and received optical power, laser bias current, temperature, and supply voltage via the I²C interface.
Optical connectivity is realized through a duplex LC connector. Key operational features include Loss of Signal (LOS) detection and assertion, automatic laser shutdown (ALS) for Class 1 eye safety compliance, and hot-swap support.
