Nortel NTK505BA Power Input Card

The Nortel Networks NTK505BA is a Power Input Card designed for the Nortel Passport MSS 15000 and compatible multiservice switching platforms. It serves as the primary DC power entry and distribution module, providing filtered and protected -48 VDC input to the system backplane, fabric modules, control processors, and line cards.This power interface module accepts dual redundant -48 VDC feeds from the central office power plant or battery backup system. It incorporates input filtering, overvoltage protection, reverse polarity protection, and current limiting functions to ensure safe and stable power delivery to the entire chassis. The card monitors input voltage levels and reports alarms for low voltage, loss of feed, or overcurrent conditions to the system control processor.
