Descripción
The Alcatel-Lucent 82-0114-01 MCM-XP (Multi-Channel Module - Extended Performance) is a control module engineered for comprehensive system management, optical channel control, and network element orchestration in DWDM/OTN optical transport network platforms. This module provides centralized control and coordination functions for wavelength division multiplexing systems, optical amplifier control, performance monitoring, and service provisioning across metropolitan, regional, and long-haul optical transport deployments. The MCM-XP card implements advanced control plane functionality including optical channel provisioning, wavelength routing coordination, automatic power control, optical performance monitoring, fault management, and protection switching for reliable multi-wavelength optical transport infrastructure. The board features high-speed backplane interfaces for communication with optical line interface modules, transponder cards, optical amplifier modules, wavelength selective switches (WSS), reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexer (ROADM) components, and system timing distribution units for coordinated network operation. Advanced features include automated optical channel discovery and activation, real-time optical performance monitoring of wavelength power levels, optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR), bit error rate (BER), and chromatic dispersion, automatic laser shutdown (ALS) for fiber break protection, hitless protection switching with sub-50ms switchover, and comprehensive fault detection and isolation for rapid service restoration. The module supports integration with optical network management systems through standardized interfaces for centralized orchestration, automated service provisioning, performance monitoring, and software lifecycle management. Management interfaces include SNMP v3, TL1, NETCONF/YANG, CORBA, and proprietary element management system protocols for integration with Alcatel-Lucent's 1350 OMS (Optical Management System), NuWave EMS, and third-party network management platforms, providing access to optical channel configuration, wavelength assignment, power level control, performance statistics, alarm status, and diagnostic information. The MCM-XP implements redundant controller architecture with automatic protection switching, stateful switchover, and graceful restart capabilities to maintain carrier-grade availability exceeding 99.999% and zero service disruption during controller failover events. Power is distributed via redundant −48 V DC feeds with integrated voltage regulation, current monitoring, overcurrent protection, and intelligent power management. Environmental specifications comply with ETSI EN 300 019 Class 3.1 and NEBS GR-63 Level 3 standards, supporting continuous operation in controlled telecommunications facilities with ambient temperatures from 0 °C to +45 °C and relative humidity from 5% to 95% non-condensing. The MCM-XP is validated for deployment in Alcatel-Lucent 1650SM/1660SM/1670/1696MS/1830/1850 series optical transport platforms and related DWDM/OTN systems, and ensures compliance with ITU-T G.692, G.698, G.709, G.872, G.874, G.959.1, G.783, G.825, Telcordia GR-253/GR-487, and ETSI EN 300 386 standards for carrier-grade optical transport network control, multi-wavelength service orchestration, and DWDM/OTN network management.
