The Nortel Networks NTFN20EB is a 1-Port E1 MVP (Multi-Vendor Integration Protocol / Media Voice Processor) Expansion Card designed for Nortel Magellan Passport and compatible voice switching platforms. It functions as a voice-focused E1 interface module, providing a single E1 (2.048 Mbps) trunk for voice and data services in carrier-grade telephony and multimedia gateway environments.This expansion card supports standard E1 framing (G.703/G.704) with 30 or 31 voice channels plus signaling and framing overhead. It is optimized for voice processing applications, including compression, echo cancellation, and integration with MVP architecture for handling VoIP or TDM-to-packet interworking.
