The Nortel Networks NTK541BA is a high-density E1 interface card designed for the OME 6500 (Optical Multiservice Edge) platform. This module provides 63 independent E1 ports, each operating at a standard 2.048 Mbps transmission rate, enabling large-scale aggregation of TDM voice and data traffic within a single shelf slot. It is primarily utilized in carrier-grade environments to bridge legacy plesiochronous digital hierarchy (PDH) circuits with modern synchronous optical (SONET/SDH) or packet-based transport networks.The hardware architecture of the NTK541BA supports full G.703 and G.704 compliance for physical electrical characteristics and framing structures.
