The ZTE NCMM is a specialized Network Control and Management Module designed for high-availability telecommunication systems, including the ZXA10 and ZXUN series platforms. This board serves as the central administrative hub of the equipment subrack, performing critical system-wide management, configuration, and monitoring tasks. It is engineered to coordinate the operation of all installed service and interface cards, ensuring the overall stability and synchronized performance of the network element. The NCMM board executes essential management plane functions, including hardware inventory discovery, software version control, and real-time alarm aggregation. It provides the primary communication path for external network management systems (NMS) via dedicated Ethernet and console interfaces, supporting protocols such as SNMP and CLI for remote and local maintenance. The module is also responsible for managing the power distribution and cooling parameters of the chassis, adjusting fan speeds based on thermal sensor data from various boards to optimize the operational environment.
Designed for maximum system reliability, the NCMM supports a 1+1 redundancy configuration, enabling seamless master/slave switching to prevent management loss during hardware failures. The front panel features a comprehensive set of LED indicators (RUN, ALM, MST) to provide immediate visual diagnostics of the system's health and active control status. As a core management component, it supports hot-swappable installation, allowing for maintenance or firmware upgrades without affecting the user traffic passing through the service boards. The module complies with global ETSI and NEBS standards for electromagnetic compatibility and long-term durability.
