The ZTE MPBA1 is a high-capacity Main Processing Board designed for carrier-grade telecommunication platforms, including the ZXUR 9000 Radio Network Controller (RNC) and ZXUN xGW packet core systems. Built on the Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ATCA), this module serves as a primary control and processing unit, offering enhanced computational power and memory throughput compared to its predecessors. It is engineered to manage complex signaling protocols, radio resource management (RRM), and mobility control functions in converged 2G, 3G, and LTE network environments.The MPBA1 board executes critical system-level tasks, including subscriber session management, call control, and the coordination of internal subrack resources. It incorporates advanced multi-core processor technology and high-density RAM to ensure stable operation during high-load signaling bursts and peak traffic periods. The module facilitates seamless communication across the system's backplane, working in synchronization with switching fabric boards (FSWA/BSWA) to maintain end-to-end data integrity.
