ZTE SDIA1 SDH Interface Board

The ZTE SDIA1 is a high-density SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) Interface Board designed for carrier-grade telecommunication platforms, including the ZXUR 9000 Radio Network Controller (RNC) and ZXUN xGW gateway systems. Built on the Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ATCA), this module serves as an advanced transmission interface, providing enhanced connectivity between the radio access network and legacy SDH/SONET transport infrastructures. It is engineered to facilitate the efficient transport of TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) traffic and packet-over-SDH data streams, ensuring high-precision timing and synchronization across the network backbone.The SDIA1 board performs critical physical and data link layer functions, including optical-to-electrical (O/E) conversion, pointer processing, and pointer justification according to ITU-T standards. It features multiple optical ports (supporting STM-1/STM-4/STM-16 rates via SFP modules) to accommodate various network topologies and transmission distances. The module incorporates sophisticated mapping and de-mapping capabilities, allowing for the reliable encapsulation of ATM or IP traffic into SDH virtual containers (VC-4, VC-12). It works in synchronization with the system's internal switching fabric (BSWA) and processing units to maintain end-to-end data integrity and clock stability.

Designed for maximum network uptime, the SDIA1 supports comprehensive hardware-level protection mechanisms, such as Multiplex Section Protection (MSP) and Sub-Network Connection Protection (SNCP), ensuring rapid sub-50ms failover in the event of fiber or link failure. The front panel is equipped with detailed LED indicators (RUN, ALM, ACT) for real-time monitoring of port link status, synchronization health, and overall board status. As a carrier-class component, it supports hot-swappable installation, enabling interface expansion or maintenance without disrupting the system's power supply. The board complies with global ITU-T, ETSI, and NEBS standards for optical performance, thermal management, and electromagnetic compatibility.
