Descripción
The ZTE SPIU1 is a high-density Service Processing Interface Unit designed for carrier-grade telecommunication platforms, including the ZXUN xGW (Unified Packet Gateway) and ZXUR 9000 Radio Network Controller (RNC) systems. Built on the Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ATCA), this module serves as a critical bridge between the external IP/Ethernet transport network and the system's internal high-speed switching fabric. It is engineered to handle intensive packet-level tasks, providing the necessary throughput for 4G (EPC), 5G core, and converged network architectures. The SPIU1 board executes essential data plane functions, including high-speed packet filtering, deep packet inspection (DPI) acceleration support, and complex protocol encapsulation/decapsulation. It typically features multiple high-bandwidth optical ports (SFP/SFP+) supporting 1GbE and 10GbE rates, ensuring flexible connectivity for upstream and downstream traffic. The module incorporates advanced network processors to manage Quality of Service (QoS) enforcement, traffic shaping, and VLAN tagging (IEEE 802.1Q/ad) at wire-speed, ensuring prioritized handling of mission-critical signaling and media streams.
Designed for maximum network reliability, the SPIU1 supports various hardware-level redundancy and protection mechanisms, including Link Aggregation (LAG) and 1+1 system-level failover. The front panel is equipped with detailed LED indicators (RUN, ALM, ACT) for real-time monitoring of port link status, data activity, and overall board health. As a carrier-class component, it supports hot-swappable installation, enabling interface expansion or maintenance without disrupting the system's power supply or global service availability. The board complies with international NEBS, ETSI, and IEEE standards for thermal management, electromagnetic compatibility, and long-term durability.
