ZTE USP Universal Service Processing Board

The ZTE USP is a high-performance Universal Service Processing Board designed for integration into carrier-grade telecommunication platforms, including the ZXUN xGW (Unified Packet Gateway) and ZXUR 9000 systems. Built on the Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (ATCA), this module serves as a multi-functional computational engine capable of handling diverse service-level tasks across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G network environments. It is engineered to perform intensive packet processing, protocol conversion, and subscriber-level policy enforcement with high-throughput efficiency.The USP board executes critical functions such as Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) acceleration, traffic shaping, and sophisticated Quality of Service (QoS) management. Its universal architecture allows it to be configured for various roles within the core network, including serving as a Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN), Serving Gateway (S-GW), or Packet Data Network Gateway (P-GW) processing unit. The module incorporates high-speed multicore processors and high-density memory to manage large-scale subscriber databases and complex signaling stacks simultaneously, ensuring low-latency data forwarding and stable session management during peak traffic periods.

Designed for maximum operational reliability, the USP supports N+1 or 1+1 hardware redundancy configurations to ensure continuous service availability. The front panel features standardized LED indicators (RUN, ALM, ACT) for real-time monitoring of hardware health and operational status. As a core service component, it supports hot-swappable installation, enabling capacity expansion or hardware maintenance without disrupting the power supply to the subrack or affecting global network performance. The board complies with international NEBS and ETSI standards for thermal management, electromagnetic compatibility, and long-term durability in mission-critical environments.
